Rowing

Smoothly travel on the water, enjoying the fresh air. In a cranky boat, alone or together with others. Whilst the rhythmically sound of the strokes continues, you glide quietly along the landscape. Being it just a nice break of the day, being it a day-long activity during a rowing tour, being it a opportunity to compete with others, or being it the great way to be on a holiday for a week.

During the rowing movement, the whole body - in a pleasant rhythmically way - participates. Most of the power comes from the legs and is transposed through back and arms in pressure on the blades. It is therefore that rowing demands a balanced combination of technique and power to let the boat smoothly travel the water. But who wants to relax, rows with a little bit less strength and more technique, who wants to do a workout, can adjust as much power as wanted and be really tired. You can make it as tiring as you would like to. So rowing or sculling is not just a sport for strong people but can be for anybody!

Most rowers and scullers are member of a rowing club. Rowing clubs provide nice boats, have facilities and are a meeting point to socialize. Often experienced rowers teach beginners how to row and make them comfortable within the club. A system of small exams, makes sure the new rowers have enough knowledge and practice to take care of the boats and have a nice stroke. Once you passed the exams, you can spread out your rowing activities in any direction you would like.
